Helena Catt - For the Record

Shazza
finally but the ideas together in pixels - great inspiration. Gave me a good reason to use the hibiscus font again.
I haven't put the names in the public version of this page because these details are often used in security question on online sites.

Here is another 'Frida Kahlo' inspired layout from....

Julene Matthews - Peek-a-boo-Puss

Hello Shazza,
This is an older layout I did ages ago but it fits the criteria. As a kitten tuppence was into everything. She climbed on top of cupboards and even in Erica's dolls house. You never knew where she would turn up! She can be seen playing with Smokey,my mothers cat, in the bottom photos (another family member) and my father's orchids (tropical flowers) are in the bottom left hand photo. They were fuschias in the vase in the top picture. I added a vine to get some brown into the layout.
Freda Kahlo is my daughters favourite artist and her life story is fascinating. Cheers - Julene

Hey Julene. Glad you joined in the challenge this month, your 'Tuppence' is a goegeous cat, I love the photo of her in the dolls house, and playing with 'Smokey' :) I like your idea of turning your photos into 3D boxes, they look great! well done - Cheers Shazza

Wednesday 22 September 2010

Here is another entry from a 'Newbie', well actually our youngest 'Newbie'.....

Vada- Leigh Seguin - I Love my Two Sweet Cats

Hi Shazza,
I am home with my six-year old daughter over the
holidays and we are spending this dreary day
scrapbooking. When she said she wanted to
scrap her two cats, I thought of this challenge.

She couldn't find a photo of her with the cats,
but found this one of her dressed as a cat and
decided to use it. Our cats are overseas in our
home in North America, and the kids miss them and
talk about them everyday. This was Vada-Leigh's
way of keeping her memory of them fresh until we
see them again.
Cheers,
Cynthia
Hey Vada! What a great page you did of your cats. They look beautiful...Is the large grey one a 'British Blue', cause our BB cat 'Astro' looks very much like the cat in the photo. You look gorgeous dressed up in your cat costume. Do you do dancing? Thanks for joining in the competition. Well done - Shazza

We have an entry from a newbie and its a beauty!!!

Sandra Wallace - Kiss Mum ??

Hi Shazza!

Sandra Wallace

Hi Sandra! So glad you found us :) Your first ever entry here is fantastic. I love the photo you used. Love your tropical flower and all so the use of the colors. This has really come together beautifully. Well done and good luck when we start the judging! Cheers Shazza

Hey Shazza
Here's mine for sept.
Haven't scrapped this boy with the dog
for a very long time, I s'pose
teens are just too cool for pets and
photos! Thanks for another great
challenge :-)
Peg
This looks so arty Peg! It looks like a real mixed media piece :) I love the title and the pic. Your gorgeous tropical flower is awesome. Thanks for joining in and great work this month. Well done - Shazza

Another entry in my inbox today from .................

Libeeti - Huggable

Hi Shazza!
Please see the attached - my submission to September's challenge. I wasn't sure I'd play with you this month, cause nothing came to my head, till yesterday, and then I just made this lo fluently... LOL I guess that's what they call - inspiration....
Any way, I think I've covered all criteria: a photo of me with my pets - done. It's me, 15 years ago, with the two dogies I had. Shades of brown & orange - done. One exotic flower - done.
I'm so happy my mojo decided to come back so I could play with you this month. It was such a fun and very inspiring (and I was very happy to look at some of my old photos with my former 'babies'...).
Thnak you very much for all the inspiration!
Take good care,
Libeeti

Hey Libeeti! I think you have done a great job of the challenge. I'm glad you were eventually inspired, and your mojo produced this gorgeous layout :) I love your Faux stitching and the rolls of pp under your photo....what a great idea! Love the doggie paw prints and how cute is your little doggie embellishment. All criteria covered here :) Great work! - Cheers Shazza

We have another great 'pet' page.......

Narelle Riley - Dom Dom

Hi Shazza

After having so much fun playing at the Screen to Scrap blog last month I decided to try my hand at the ARTastic challenge this month!
My LO features myself and our "shared custody" dog (he shares his time between my parents house and ours!!), brown and orange and a single tropical frangipani! Our dog's name is Domnio and the title is a take on a line from 'Night at the Museum" which says "Me not dumb dumb- you dumb dumb". We use it all the time with our Dom!

Blessings - Narelle Riley

Well done Narelle! I love your dog Domino, he is gorgeous! Looks like he loves the attention :)
Great page, love your tropical flower! Love the title you used too. Thanks for joining in this month. Well done! - Shazza

We have an entry today from a newbie..........

Gea Veldhuizen - U2

Cheers.

Tiffany

http://scrapbookingmyboys.blogspot.com

Hey Tiffany! What a fantastic entry I just love all the orange and brown. I love how you used material for your background, its given your entry lots of texture and volume. I also like your idea how you flipped the ribbon in the RH corner :) Perfect pics, you have covered all the criteria. Great Work!! Cheers Shazza

Wednesday 15 September 2010

Have a look at this gorgeous layout from.....

Sue McVeigh - Skater Girl

Hey Shazza,
Here is my layout for the September challenge.
I don't have myself or a family member in the photo with
my dog, but I have shades of brown & orange and flowers.
The journalling reads: "Angel took to riding the skateboard
like a natural!!! Except when she yelped because the
skateboard was up against the brick wall and she wanted
us to pick it up so she could continue riding!"
Cheers, Sue McVeigh

Hi Sue!
lol...How gorgeous is Angel on the skateboard....I've never seen a dog ride a skate board before....how funny is that !! Apart from the photo without yourself or a family mamber in it, everything else is covered. Your color combo has worked out well and I love your scallopped flower accent you added, thanks for joining in again. - Cheers Shazza

Monday 13 September 2010

Another entry in my inbox today from .................

Sherrie Plummer - Nap Time

Hi Shazza,
This is my son and his daughter Bella, one of my new grandbabies. They have twins, Bella and Luke. Dad, Bella and the dogs are all trying to take a nap. But Bella isn't having any of it. She wants to look around. Great inspiration picture this month. I wasn't to sure of the color combo when I started, but it turned out really great!
Sherrie

http://sherriesjournal.blogspot.com/

Hi Sherrie! I love the photo of your son, Bella ....and the dogs trying to nap..... lol I think the color combo worked out fine, and I love the little cut out squares on the side. Love your tropical flower, with the little heart in the centre :) Great work this month! Well done!! - Cheers Shazza

A beautiful entry today from...

Cecelia Blanco - Chloe

Hello Shazza and DT;0) Here is my submission for the Frida Kohalo challenge. These are pictures of my daughter and middle son right after we rescued Chloe from the shelter 4 years ago. Here is what my journaling says:
We rescued you from a life you did not deserve
and brought you into our home
where you will be loved and taken care of forever.
We love you.
Thank you for the inspiration and hope you all have a great weekend;0)

Cecelia Blanco

www.ceceliablanco.blogspot.com

Hi Cecelia, thanks for your entry this month, I love your Chloe layout :)
The title with the button for the 'o' is a great idea and I must say your tropical flower is stunning.....I love it!! Great pics of the kids with Chloe, what an adorable pup! I'm so glad she found you guys or you found her lol Great work this month, well done! Cheers Shazza

Saturday 11 September 2010

Here ia a great take on the challenge from.......

Jen Fawkes - How to Eat a Budgie!

Hi Shazza, here is my layout for your September challenge.
It meets the criteria (pets - yes, brown/orange - yes, tropical flower - yes).
This tells the story of Molly, a tame budgie that flew into our lives (many years ago). She was so tame that she must have belonged to someone who loved her. Unfortunately we never found her previous owner but we enjoyed her company for many years. She was one amazing bird. - Jen

This has turned out a treat Jen. Love all the little photos with the list of steps on how to eat a bird included. Great that you have done some distressing abd tearing of your pp (I love that technique) Your tropical flower and little bird in the corner add a perfect touch. Great work again! Cheers Shazza

Tuesday 7 September 2010

http://isay-creativegenius.blogspot.com

Just beautiful Melissa, A very striking entry. I love the Jackson family photo with their little dog that you used. Your tropical flower is just stunning. There is so much too look at on here from all your little techniques to a little added tag and bird. I bet your pleased with how this turned out. Great work - Shazza

We have an entry today from......

Megan Vin - Sun Bake

Hi Shazza,
Here is my September submission. It's my eldest child and our one eyed cat. He is getting on in age and rarely moves from the front verandah. He loves sunbaking more than anything in the world including us humans! I've used a bit of symbolism here like Kahlo is so fond of. The lotus flower represents my daughter who is one unique individual! I painted it in purple to match her glasses. The stripey paint follows the tiles out and draws the eye to the picture. Thanks for squizzing,
M

http://greengoldandguava.blogspot.com/

Hi Megan!
A lovely arty entry, love your painted background and the Lotus flower has come up a treat!
Your pic of your daughter and cat is so cute, and love your journaling too. Your Sun Bake title is Hot!! lol Great work... I love it!! - Cheers Shazza
