Timeless Layout by Tracey Henly
Working with acetate can be troublesome when you don’t wish your adhesive to be visible. This new Heidi Swapp range called Magnolia Jane has an awesome coordinating acetate sheet. You could of cause just use it as a full 12 x 12 overlay but I decided to fussy cut it up and layer it with the matching pattern paper.
Now remember Acetate comes with a plastic coating that you just peel off before attaching to your layout.
After you have cut out all your elements decide where your photo is to sit on your layout and draw a pencil line around it. This will give you a guild as to where you want your flowers to go.
Your first layer goes on flat just use your double sided tape for the paper flowers and glossy accents for the acetate.
You can cut clusters up and make them smaller to make your design work.
Mat your photo if you wish and using magic mount double sided foam raise your photo up off the background. I actually used two layers so I could poke some of the second layer of flowers under the photo.
So add your second layer of flowers by using one layer of foam tape.
Cut your doily in half and position on either side of your photo.
Now I use a product called scrap dots, which is like silicone gel. It allows me to get more height on certain elements if I wish it.
So the final layer of acetate flowers which just go over the edges of the photo I have attached with the scrap dots.
I added a Heidi acetate title …. Timeless.
Also with the left over clear acetate from the 12 x 12 sheet, I stamp butterflies on it with black staz on.
Then turn it over and coloured the back with alcohol Inks, let dry then cut out and attach to your layout.
Have fun playing with acetate.
